today’s daily water is written by Vince Carr
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thessalonians 3:16)
Here I am on 75N in Florida, heading back from our Christmas vacation in Central Florida. Very few things beat being able to wake up, roll out of bed, and jump straight into the swimming pool. See, this year we decided to try something different; let’s go to our favorite place, and take my sister and family with us. It was awesome! We had 6 nights and 7 days of an insane amount of fun… So much fun! I mean, we basically shut Orlando down every single night.
I had completely forgotten about my reality of a busy life in super cold Northwest Georgia. I mean, it was 80+ degrees almost everyday in Florida, and here I am about to trade in my shorts for, sweatpants. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a good pair of sweatpants, but I really love rocking a pair of shorts and a tee. As time went on, I found myself being consumed with the thought about “when I get home”, and I was missing the awesomeness of where I was, what I was doing, and who I was doing it with.
Here’s my question: Have you ever been there? So consumed with what could/may happen, that you miss the awesomeness that surrounds you… Ever been there? I don’t know about you, but I sometimes find myself there daily. Let me encourage, no matter of you’re in the sun or cold portion of life, God has got you. Change isn’t always pleasant, but with God… It’s absolutely achievable! So, when you are going through the changes, look for the blessings that God has placed right in front of you. Let me the first one to do it… I’m headed on 75N from 84 to 36 degree weather, but I had an amazing trip with my greatest blessing… My family.
Prayer: Dear God, help me to stay focused on you throughout the changes in my life. When life shifts me from my comfort zone, remind me that I’m right where you want me at that moment. Remind me to focus on the blessings that are surrounding me, and not just on the changes that are ahead of me. Amen.
