“Dear brothers, giving thanks to God for you is not only the right thing to do, but it is our duty to God because of the really wonderful way your faith has grown and because of your growing love for each other.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3, TLB)
Today’s verse really speaks to me, because of how it links three critically important Christian values: gratitude, faith, and love. It speaks to us to (A) give thanks to God, (B) grow in faith, and (C) go forth in love.
I sincerely hope this provides a framework for you to look at life with God and each other. Giving thanks to God helps to you expand your understanding of God’s work in the world. This helps you grow in faith as you connect with the Lord and each other. You can’t just sit still, though, so you need to go out into the world in love. This activates your life and gives you purpose.
Give. Grow. Go. May this shape your life today and forever.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I give thanks to you for the wonderful things in your life. I want to grow in my faith so I can go forward in love. I know this is possible by the help of your Holy Spirit. I lift this prayer in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
