A Prayer of Connection

by Mary Stout

You know that I did not hold back from proclaiming to you anything that would be helpful, and from teaching you publicly and from house to house, ‘ Acts 20:20

Father God, we come to you this day in complete faith and hope in you. We know in spite of circumstances in the world, you alone are the rock of our salvation. Your steadfast love and grace surrounds us even in the midst of our struggling world.

We know beyond a shadow of doubt, beyond the fear of sickness or the unknown anxiety that grips our world, you still reign over us and you will guide us and give us hope.

As we stand firm in our faith, help us Lord Jesus be your hands and feet, be your eyes and ears, to love like there is no tomorrow. Let us share light and hope of Christ Jesus to all who enter our day. Let us connect with social media, texts, and phone calls. Let us check on our neighbors, the kids down the street, and the elderly. Let us help those who are broken, those who are hungry, those who are sick. Let us pray for the doctors, nurses, and the rest of the hospital staff. Place a hedge of protection around them as they work tirelessly.

We pray for peace and calm throughout our day and help us remember this is temporary. Help us remember to get still and listen to your voice.

Forgive us, Lord when we get frustrated, or confused. Help us show compassion and love in all the ways we can during this social distancing. Help us be the church today. Help us connect to one another, encouraging one another and uplifting one another each day.

Lord hear our prayer as we minister to one another, In Jesus holy name Amen
