“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

I felt convicted by today’s verse. How about you? Take a second look: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will he saved.” That isn’t a might be, could be, would be, or should be, it is a will be. That means there will undoubtedly be people in heaven I would not expect. And if I really think honestly about it, there might be some folks there surprised to see ME!

If you want to read today’s verse with an “except” in there, stop right now, and lift a prayer to God. Ask for His forgiveness, and seek His grace to see everyone through the merciful eyes of our saving Lord…the same He uses to gaze upon you. Call upon the name of the Lord, and bask in the amazing grace of our holy and loving Heavenly Father.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your loving kindness to me. Forgive me for the many times I think I can do your job, and want to make exceptions for who should be in paradise. It is humbling to think there are people in the world who might think the same about me. So by the power of your Holy Spirit, help me to see everyone as your child, loved with an everlasting love by an everlasting Father. It’s in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
